COORDINATION OF THEMATIC SESSIONS

MT 1. Design and methodological processes

Design is a discipline of synthesis of knowledge and skills from diverse sources, in which expressive and visual representation capacity, technological knowledge, and capacity for analysis or conceptualization come together. The methodological processes linked to the different phases of the design process, as well as their management, make up a new research topic where the potential of the dimension of space and interactivity to transmit graphic and visual information can be explored.

Coordination : Alfonso Ruiz Rallo (Universidad de La Laguna) / Bernardo A. Candela Sanjuán (Universidad de La Laguna)

MT 2. Technical innovation and visual methodologies

From the first researchers who used image and sound in scientific processes, methods have adapted to technological changes, as have artists in their field. This thematic round table contributes to the visibility of innovative works that use digital tools beyond photography and film.

Coordination : Jacques Ibanez Bueno (Université Savoie Mont Blanc) / Alain Bouldoires (Université Bordeaux Montaigne).

MT 3. Participatory and expository visual methods

This thematic panel offers a holistic view of research, employing collaboration, active participation and visual representation as fundamental pillars of understanding. Through these approaches, it explores the wealth and diversity of cultural or personal experiences and highlights the importance of giving voice to the subjects experiencing the world.

Coordination : Marleni Reyes Monreal (Universidad Autónoma de Puebla) / Charles-Alexandre Delestage (Université Bordeaux Montaigne).

MT 4. Media studies

Research-based on visual methods is intrinsically linked to the audiovisual production that has accompanied mass media studies since its origin. In this sense, the research has a wide field of study based on the integration of visual anthropology and multimodal methods, which bring the researcher closer to the analysis of incorporated and incorporeal signs, bringing us increasingly closer to creative research.

Coordination : Rebeca Illiana Arévalo Martínez (Universidad Anáhuac México) / Rogelio Del Prado Flores (Universidad Anáhuac México)

MT 5. Epistemology and studies on visualization

This group of works focuses on studies on the knowledge of visuality in artistic and cultural creations. Research on generating knowledge through visual perception, visual experience in understanding the world, and interpretations of visual information are welcome.

Coordination : Fernando Contreras (Universidad de Sevilla) / Alba Marín (Universidad de Extremadura / Universidad de Sevilla)

MT 6. Urban space, territories and mobile methods

This session addresses how visual methods can be effective and fertile in studying urban space and territory, mainly due to the possibility of their combination with mobile devices as tools for research. The works presented around this round table will show a state of the art of the different variants of these methods and their contributions in various disciplines.

Coordination : Alain Lamboux-Durand (Université Franche-Comté) / Willy Yvart (Université Franche-Comté).
